The PC VR’s U10 Dungeon update arrived in late October, expanding beyond the game’s sandbox roots and introducing a more linear experience with procedurally generated dungeons for players to crawl and fight through. Keep up with that though, because that extremely passionate community is not going anywhere that's provided 3D Vision support for new games for years.A sperate, standalone version of the PC VR combat sandbox Blade & Sorcery is going to bring its physics-based carnage to Quest 2 on November 4th.īlade & Sorcery is widely regarded as the premier combat sandbox for SteamVR headsets, letting players take on hordes of realistic combat dummies with a variety of medieval weaponry, such as swords, daggers, axes, maces, and more.Ĭalled Blade & Sorcery: Nomad, the Quest 2 version of the game will have “almost all of the features and content of the PCVR game version U10 Dungeons Update,” developing studio Warpfrog say. The community has said if Nvidia doesn't allow them to still use it some other way as an optional install, they were going to make their own version from the ground up.

What's not dead is the HUGE community of modders making new mods for it every day here: all that to say, it's amazing if you have the right expectations and all those "advanced VR emulation" things can be turned off and you can just use it for the stereoscopic 3DģD Vision is being killed off by Nvidia partly because they dropped development of it a LONG time ago. Unfortunately, quite a few people expected the later and came away disappointed. If you're expecting it to magically turn a normal game into a made-for-VR game, you'll be disappointed. If you're expecting just Stereoscopic 3D versions of 2D games, you'll be blown away with it. It tries to do way more than just stereoscopic 3D and tries to simulate an actual VR game with even roomscaling. If you can still get a hold of it, it works fantastically well on a lot of games. I did state with Tridef that the company went out of business.
You'll want to replay all your favorite games with the extra immersion. TL DR - There's a lot of options! Once you get it setup, you'll never go back to just playing the flat versions. Here's a video showing out to set it up to play with Zelda BOTW: One last option (that isn't true geometry 3D, but can often still look amazing at better performance is Super Depth 3D Tridef 3D works really well with Diablo 3, but it looks like they went out of business recently (you can still find the demo floating around the internet).

To get games to use SBS 3D instead of a 3D Vision monitor, the mod needs to use the newer 3D migato mod (which it doesn't look like the Diablo 3 mod uses unfortunately)

I made a video showing how to set this up for VR here:

You can use VorpX with ALVR or Virtual Desktop: įor many games to get in full 3D, you can also use a free solution using Nvidia 3DVision (if you have an Nvidia card on your desktop) Some people are using Virtual Desktop to play flatscreen games, but they don't know all they're missing out by not also enabling full geometry 3D. Here's a copy paste of a comment I just left that I thought might be helpful for others (other than just playing Diablo 3).
